A message from our Director Harprit Pitu Suri
It’s almost time to ring in the new year and, without the usual merry-making and partygoing, this brings us an opportunity to look forward to what the next 12 months might bring.
Of course, what we all hope for above all else is an end to the pandemic that has claimed so many lives and caused so much disruption. In 2021, we want to see science triumph and drive COVID-19 into the annals of history.
We would love to see our retailers open their stores again, free from restrictions and the worry over more lockdowns, and shoppers out in force to treat themselves and their loved ones to beautiful accessories.
Hopefully, 2021 will see this become a reality and the jewellery industry starting to get back on its feet again. The Centre for Retail Research seems optimistic, suggesting in a recent report that retail sales growth could go up by an average of 2.4 per cent as consumers and the economy get back to normal post-COVID.
Of course, we may see a ‘new normal’ rather than the one we once had. Perhaps shoppers will still prefer to ‘click and collect’ for a while, or to browse products like costume jewellery from their favourite stores on social media.
This could require different marketing tactics for our bricks-and-mortar allies, as well as changes to delivery options, which will no doubt represent a fresh challenge going forward.
Whatever happens, and even though we might have a different retail landscape than before, we are hopeful that there is light at the end of the dark and dreary tunnel we have been in since March 2020.
At Majique, we will still be here waiting to support you with everything you might need for the new normal, so please do not hesitate to contact us in the weeks ahead if you want assistance or advice.
And, as 2021 dawns, all that’s left for us to do is wish you a happy and prosperous new year. Those words have never been more heartfelt and earnest than they are today.
Happy New Year, from all of us at Majique.
