The Roaring 2020s – how nature-themed jewellery is taking off

We’ve seen a lot of trends centred around fun and cheerful jewellery this year as we all seek distraction from the pandemic, and some of the new designer collections being unveiled lately have shown there is no sign of this abating.

Brands like Piaget, Cartier and Chopard are showcasing their latest looks virtually – and it’s a glittering smorgasbord of escapism that will appeal to anyone who likes colour and liveliness in their accessories.

For example, Cartier’s [Sur]Naturel collection incorporates bold flora and fauna in bright shades, creating a surrealist vibe that builds on the success of its iconic panther and snake motifs.

Meanwhile, Piaget’s Wings of Light collection has a definite jungle feel, with birds of paradise jostling sweeping vegetation for position on necklaces and earrings.

It’s great to see designers having fun with their creations and really experimenting with colour during this time of tribulation, especially with all the big fashion shows either cancelled or consigned to the internet.

And we think it presents a fantastic opportunity to take some risks with your own accessories – although, like us, you’ll probably be swapping Cartier for costume jewellery to save on the budget.

That’s not to say you’ll be stuck with second-best, though, as we have some fantastic nature-themed pieces here at Majique that you’d swear were the real thing.

For instance, this sweeping necklace with a gorgeous bird is very Piaget-esque, as is this one in gold tones. We love these parrot earrings for the bold colours and dangly length, while a snake-print necklace will create a Cartier feel yet be understated at the same time.

And don’t forget you can make a really cool statement with a brooch, too. We have plenty of animal and bird motifs to suit any outfit here.

Go on – look to the animal kingdom and let us hear you roaring with style this season.
