Get set to go totally tropical for spring fashion

We know there's still quite a long time before we shake off the cold weather of winter and start to see lighter nights coming in - usually, it's not until the start of February that we begin to notice that welcome difference here in Britain.

However, that doesn't mean we can't start daydreaming about our spring wardrobes now and perhaps even mentally preparing some outfits that can come to the fore once those winter woollies get stashed away.

And if there's one trend that will completely sweep away any winter blues you might be feeling, it's this one: tropical florals. According to the runways for SS18, Hawaiian-style prints are set to be huge for the season ahead, something that will be filtering down to the high street soon.

Designers including Fenty Puma, Michael Kors, Coach and Louis Vuitton all sent their models down the catwalks wearing clothes emblazoned with bold flowers and leaves, resulting in a welcome splash of colour and brightness and a real treat for the eye.

Of course, this type of pattern is going to look somewhat out of place until we see a bit of sunshine to go with it - you're best sticking with your graphic florals and darker hues for now. But, like we said, a spot of daydreaming and planning ahead can't hurt, especially if you've got a holiday coming up.

Everything from rich shades to pastels is going to be covered under this tropical remit, so you'll be sure to find something to suit you once the trend hits the shops - and the good news is that big flowers tend to flatter all figures.

If you really want to embrace it, invest in a long dress or jumpsuit with hibiscus print or ferns and team it with basic accessories such as a cropped black or white jacket. You can even add other prints like stripes if you really want to turn heads.

To tone down tropicals, just select one item with the print (like a flirty skater skirt) and add plainer separates for a less 'in your face' feel.

And of course, you can add fashion jewellery featuring flowers to any outfit, whether it's fashion-forward or a little more conservative.

We've got plenty in stock here at Majique ahead of the tropical trend dropping, including this lovely necklace with a purple flower. Since it's a violet hue, you're also hitting another trend with just one piece!

There's also a flowery bracelet that comes in a range of colours and one that is silver-toned with a dainty motif if you'd prefer monochrome accessories.
